Shell posters is a rich vein to mine for any blogger. have included this one as a little taster and also to illustrate the point from the previous posts, some Advertising posters are rather large and also sometimes come in several pieces.
Some of the best mid century poster artists have a distinctive style and Freedman is one of those complete with his relatively dark pallet and subject matter !
The above poster was a stand out at the recent Bob Date collection sale. No doubt the man had great taste in design with many of the lots going for 4 or 5 times the estimate.
We were fortunate enough to snag one lot, more of this later
