This is the 4 main and original Pop Art Beatles poster set created by photographer Richard Avedon for STERN Magazine in Germany. These are the authentic first printings from the original 1967–68 production, not later reproductions.
In late 1967, each of the Beatles visited a studio specially arranged by Richard Avedon to be photographed individually. Avedon later transformed these portraits into a striking Pop Art series, using psychedelic color and solarization effects to capture the spirit of the era. The posters were printed and distributed in early 1968 through STERN Magazine and partner publications in the United States and Europe.
The set was originally distributed at newsstands, rolled together in a clear plastic tube, and remains one of the most recognized Pop Art series of the 20th century.
These works have been exhibited in major museums and institutions worldwide and remain an enduring symbol of the 1960s, blending Avedon’s portrait photography with the bold visual language of Pop Art.
