Very rare vintage set of eight General Service English Wall pictures originally owned by British council in Belgrade – Yugoslavia! .Posters are made in the 1950’s, illustrated by Elizabeth Skilton and printed by Lowe & Brydone LTD London. They are in used condition, graphic and colours are good. Dimension of poster: 101 x 75 cm. Scenes: Beach Holidays, Farm, Country Life, Living Room and Family, Street and Traffic, Harbor and Industry, Office and Working Day, Train Station.
These cute and busy posters were used by British overseas consulates and associated agencies to promote teaching of the English language using typical day to day scenes. The 1950s nostalgia and great colours make the posters particularly desirable.
